Welcome to the Blackfeet Nation Fish and Wildlife Department
A Blackfeet Fish and Wildlife Conservation Permit is required for all outdoor recreational activities within the exterior boundaries of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation.
Permits subject to restrictions listed within Blackfeet Fish and Wildlife rules and regulations. Conservation Permit required prerequisite to other permitted outdoor activities.
TRANSPORTATION
POSSESSION OF PERMITS
It shall be unlawful for any person to fail to have his permit in his possession while undertaking the permitted activity.
CHECK STATIONS
Game Wardens may set up check stations on any road other than highway 2 and 89. It shall be unlawful for any person to fail to stop and submit to an inspection by the Game Wardens.
INTERFERING WITH AN OFFICER
It shall be unlawful for any person to willfully interfere with the performance by a law enforcement officer of any duty authorized by these rules and regulations.
WASTE OF FISH OR GAME MEAT
It is unlawful to waste fish or big game meat.
COMMERCE IN FISH OR GAME MEAT
It is unlawful to buy, sell, or offer to buy or sell fish or big game meat.
POSSESSION OF FISH AND WILDLIFE DURING CLOSED SEASONS
It shall be unlawful for any person to possess fish and wildlife taken during a season closed to the taking of such fish and wildlife.
MINORS
Fishing. Tribal member minors may fish without adult supervision, provided all rules and regulations are observed. A non-member 13 years of
age or older shall obtain a permit. A non-member child under the age of 13 may fish without a permit when accompanied by a licensed adult, but must observe all
fishing rules and regulations and the combined catch must not exceed one (1) legal limit.
The violation of any fishing rules or regulations by a member child may be handled according to the Tribal Law providing for a violation of the criminal code by
juveniles. The violation of any fishing rules or regulation by either a member child or a non-member child may subject the child or the person with legal custody of the
child to a civil fine prescribed for the particular offense and other penalties prescribed.
