Welcome to the Blackfeet Nation Fish and Wildlife Department A Blackfeet Fish and Wildlife Department (BFWD) Recreation/Conservation Permit is required for Non-Blackfeet tribal members/descendants participating in outdoor recreational activities within the exterior boundaries of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. Permits are subject to restrictions listed within BFWD rules and regulations and the BFWD holds no liability for any damages, theft, or vandalism to personal property or for any personal injury incurred while recreating on tribal or private lands.
TRANSPORTATION OF FISH AND WILDLIFE
A. Failure to Possess Tribal Licenses or Permits. It shall be unlawful to transport fish and wildlife taken on the Reservation without the applicable BFWD Tribal license or permit in your possession. B. Failure to Possess Permit form Other Jurisdictions. It shall be unlawful to transport fish and wildlife which was taken in another jurisdiction onto or through the Reservation without a valid permit from the jurisdiction where the fish or wildlife was taken if that jurisdiction requires such a permit. C. Transportation of Live Fish or Wildlife. It shall be unlawful to transport live fish or wildlife into, away from, or within the external boundaries of the Reservation unless authorized by the Fish and Wildlife Director. Exceptions include meal worms, red worms, night crawlers, leeches, maggots, and insects used for fishing bait.
CHECK STATIONS
Game Wardens may set up check stations on any road or highway. It shall be unlawful for any person to fail to stop and submit to an inspection by the Game Wardens.
INTERFERING WITH AN OFFICER
It shall be unlawful for any person to willfully interfere with the performance by a law enforcement officer of any duty authorized by these rules and regulations.
WASTE OF FISH OR GAME MEAT
It shall be unlawful to waste fish or wildlife.
COMMERCE IN FISH OR GAME MEAT
It is unlawful to buy, sell, or offer to buy or sell fish or big game meat.
POSSESSION OF FISH AND WILDLIFE DURING CLOSED SEASONS
It shall be unlawful for any person to possess fish and wildlife taken during a season closed to the taking of such fish and wildlife.
